Świnica [4]

Last year I went to Zakopane in the Polish Tatra mountains. I've visited the place before as a child, when I was about six years old. But we dind't go to the high mountains back then. Something I wanted to do this time around. What I learned was, that a hike in the mountais is nothing like a hike somwhere else, and some preparation is neccessary. Also: Maps from the tourist office don't really cut it. For example these maps with no word mentioned that you have to use many, many steel chains to climb up and down Świnica peak (2301 m). Had I known this before, maybe I had chosen another mountain. But I didn't, so I had to learn using those chains as I went. Fortunately I managed and after exhausting 10 hours of hiking I had plenty of exciting new memories. Taken at Świnica mountain with a Pixel 3a in September 2025.
