Ambiguous Space

This is an older one. In 2007 I went on a study trip to Paris as part of a uni seminar. We were walking all day and discovering the ciyt mostly on our own. This day was especially rainy and cloudy. In this photo all buildings appear flat, as if this was a collage - like unrelated cut outs, placed next to each other. Yet it's just an effect of the soft, diffuse light caused by the clouds. What I like about this is, how the light emphasizes the 2D-ness of photography and messes with our ability to reconstruct / to understand 3D space form a flat image. Taken in Paris in June 2007.
